Why does it cost more than USA
The cost to ship the Global Sun Oven ® into Australia is high. The volume of the unit means it costs over $300 for shipping a single oven plus the cost of the oven itself.
We ship them in large quantities to save money on this - but there are also landing fees, import duty, brokerage fees, quarantine fees, GST, storage and transport within Australia.
We understand that you want to get the very best price but have to warn you that people willing to sell you a Global Sun Oven ® from any country other than Australia are doing so illegally or are selling you a cheap imitation oven. Your oven may be of lower quality, contain dangerous components or may be confiscated by customs. It will obviously not be covered by the Global Sun Oven ® warranty. While it is true there are a couple of cheaper solar cookers in Australia, we chose the best for a good reason. The others are less effective, harder to use, lower quality, limited in capacity, made with lower quality components and in some cases dangerous.
If that wasn't bad enough, one seller is now selling an illegal chinese copy of the Global Sun Oven ®. It is advertised as the worlds best selling design, but fails to warn you that it is made with low quality components, is of lower quality, doesn't reach the same temperatures and is potentially dangerous. In our opinion this is an attempt for short-sighted profit that will have a negative impact on solar cooking in the long run.
